If you are using vista or windows 7, you will not be able to correct this problem!

Microsoft are responsible for the gadgets not being stable, they (the gadgets) are also a security risk as they can be hacked!

You are much better off finding a third party clock (many are free) from searching the Web!

I know!  I had the same problem and have tried everything I know to get the clock and Calender to stay on my desktop, sometimes they stay for a few days, then they go walkabouts, and I have to reinstall them.
This is a well documented fault with desktop gadgets (along with being a security risk), some installed startup services and processes interfere with the gadgets causing them to fail to start.
If you can get them to be stable on your desktop, then "your a better man than I am Gunga Din".

I put this query to Microsoft and they e-mailed me a "hotfix" which is supposed to solve this problem. If you want to give it a try will forward the address.Everything is now working fine but only time will tell.

Somehow I don't think I will bother to put myself through needless pain!

Solution:  Dump Gadgets and download a third party free clock from the internet! :smiley
