Program Files for 32 and 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium
« on: March 18, 2011, 12:14:55 PM »
On my local disk (C) there are two files, one says"Program Files"with 17 items in and the other one says "Program Files (x86) with 17 items also.Am i correct in assuming that the file marked(x86) is for the 32 bit system which i don't use as i prefer the 64 bit sytem and will it be safe to delete the (x86) file.
Regards

If you delete that folder, there is the strong possibility that many 32 bit programs you try to run on your system will no longer work.
Almost every program made to date is 32 bit.....It is true that many programs are also 64 bit compatible, but the majority are not, and still rely on 32 bit code to work properly!
